Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
Inspire Psychological Services seeks to provide counseling services to those in need of hope, encouragement and support. Christian counseling, rooted in Biblical truth, is available upon request and offered when desired. Our goal is to enable families, adults, adolescents and children to know true peace and freedom from psychological pain through the utilization of professional psychotherapy.
Our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. We seek to join you on your journey as together we work to resolve problems, heal deep wounds and effectively cope with life's challenges. It is our privilege to partner with you as we seek solutions and freedom from life's challenges. Christian counseling is available upon request.
Please call or email us for an individual, couples or family therapy consultation today.
Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

Hello, my name is Jan. My primary goal as a professional counselor is to help you overcome challenges and reach your full potential. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and am committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. With a genuine passion for helping others, I am dedicated to understanding your unique needs and tailoring my therapeutic approach to best support you. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way. It would be an honor to be a part of your journey and support you in achieving your goals. Reach out today and let’s begin this transformative process together.
My name is Synthia (“Sindy”) Hansen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a license both in South Carolina and Illinois. I received my Master’s in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University in 2004. My family and I recently moved to South Carolina from our little family farm in southern Illinois and I am soon to be an empty-nester.
I started my career in 2004 working with child and adult survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. Most recently, I have been working in a community mental health center where I have gained experience with a variety of other needs including anxiety, depression, trauma, family stress/dynamics issues, adjustment difficulties, coping with chronic illness, mood disorders, and behavioral issues.
I believe it is important to fully hear and understand my clients’ perspective, preferences, needs, and style when choosing a treatment approach. No two people are the same and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach in therapy. We will work together to help you find the solutions you need to either resolve the issue that brought you in, or help you manage it better if it is not something to be solved. As a Christian, I am open to offering a Christian perspective if that is something that is important to you.
As a therapist I believe in Solution-Focused approaches that empower the client to make lasting changes in their lives. Utilizing a Person-Centered approach allows for me to customize therapy to match each individual's goals within a compassionate and judgement free zone. I also incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy within some sessions to combat anxious and depressive thoughts. I have experience working with all different ages and specialize in: anxiety, depression, life transitions, anger management, health concerns, relationship difficulties and traumatic experiences.
When I'm off the clock I enjoy spending time with my young children outdoors and going to various parks. I love to read and learn new skills that include cooking, baking, and crafting. We enjoy soaking up all the Lowcountry sun and historic sights! As a Christian, I can provide spiritual components to your sessions if you would like.
My name is Leslie Bauer, and I am an LPC who is passionate about helping clients and providing them with useful strategies for managing the concerns they are experiencing. I obtained my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and a Master’s in Psychological Services through Marymount University. I have 20 years of experience in counseling children in Virginia and here in South Carolina. My most recent experience has been as a child advocate, forensic interviewer and therapist at a local CAC here in SC. I consider myself a client centered therapist, and I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also love utilizing solution-focused strategies in sessions. My desire is to help those who struggle with anxiety, depression, and relational and family issues. Overall, I want to see my clients for who they are and empower them to live healthily and fully. I look forward to working with you!
